In 2011, I co-curated the Walker Art Center’s contribution to Northern Spark—the Twin Cities nuit blanche. I curated and produced three projects revolving around the body. In The Secret Language of Sleep: Contest for a 40th Position, I collaborated with McSweeney’s, author Evany Thomas and illustrator Amelia Bauer to translate their book into a larger-than life game. In The Shape of Night: Busby Berkely Nocturne, participants were taught a routine inspired by Busby Berkeley and led by choreographer Megan Mayer, which was then performed on the spot. In The Lullaby Experiment, artist Marcus Young gently broke the social rules of sleep and public space by inviting participants to sleep in the museum serenaded by lullabies throughout the night.
